Creative director, beauty + fashion
I'm a creative director in New York. I dig into where a brand comes from, then push it somewhere new and culturally alive, so it feels unmistakably itself and new at the same time.
For 7+ years I led global creative at Bumble and bumble. When I arrived in 2018, a beloved salon brand had drifted from what made it special. Alongside fellow brand leaders I pushed for a return to our salon roots, and I changed the photography, casting, type, and tone to bring back that mix of elevated style and downtown grit. Reporting into the brand president, I ran a department of about 20 across campaigns, digital, packaging, and visual merchandising, and built an in-house studio that cut production costs by 20%. In 2024 the brand reached number one in U.S. prestige hair styling (Circana).
Before that I spent 4+ years as global design director at philosophy (Coty), modernizing and elevating the brand without losing the personal storytelling its fans loved. Earlier I art directed at Diane von Furstenberg, working directly with Diane, and spent 4+ years at M·A·C in its heyday, when the brand was all about culture. My work there, from Wonder Woman x M·A·C to Quite Cute and Hello Kitty x M·A·C, kept pushing that forward.
I trained in fine art, film, and design, lectured on design at NYU, and still paint and draw. I like work that's equal parts magic and method. Now I run my own studio, working with Elizabeth Arden, Estée Lauder Companies, and L Catterton, and I teach creative teams how to build with AI as an educator for FLORA.
I work the way I talk in a creative review: plainly, with a point of view, and with the whole team on the credit list.
